Nestled beside one of Kuala Lumpur’s last remaining urban forests, Bangsar Nursery is a charming green space where people come to slow down, reconnect with nature, and learn how to care for the Earth in simple, practical ways. Whether you are coming to volunteer, adopt a plant, or simply spend time among greenery, you’re always welcome here.

Volunteer at the Nursery at our Environmental Stewardship Programme

Our volunteer workshops are hands-on learning experiences designed to build practical environmental skills. Join us and be part of something truly special – a hands-on journey to heal the Earth, one plant at a time. As a volunteer for Free Tree Society, you will get your hands dirty with impactful gardening work like composting, weeding and planting that will green Kuala Lumpur. This is a unique opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to urban resilience and be part of a community growing a greener, more sustainable city – all while having lots of fun!

Tucked away at the edge of one of Kuala Lumpur’s last urban forests, the Bangsar Nursery is the flagship home of Free Tree Society. For over a decade, this vibrant community hub has been a gathering place for those dedicated to cultivating a greener, more resilient KL.

 

Through our Environmental Stewardship Programme, we transform visitors into changemakers. Every Tuesday and Saturday morning, our gates open for hands-on workshops that empower people from all walks of life to become active guardians of the Earth.

Get #FreeTrees

Every Tuesday and Saturday morning (except public holidays)  from 9:30-11:30 am you can drop by our Bangsar Nursery to adopt free plants! Just look for our friendly staff to inquire about which plants are for adoption.

Stocked with a range of basic gardening tools as well as natural and non-toxic fertilisers, pest repellents, and soil amenders. Drop by during volunteer times to shop or pre-order by paying online via our online shop.

Wildlife Habitats

Learn about creating wildlife habitats. We have many at the nursery, including this pond, a beautiful addition that is especially loved by visiting children, who delight in observing the dragonflies and aquatic life.

Location 

Our Bangsar nursery is located on Jalan Limau Purut, opposite Bangsar Aman condominium (set your GPS to this location).

 

Opening times are only on Tuesdays from

9:30 – 11:30am (by appointment) and Saturdays from 9:00am – 12:00pm.

Parking is limited. Please note that this is a residential area and visitors are expected to behave with courtesy and thoughtfulness: please do not park in front of residential gates or obstruct traffic flow, and please keep the noise level down.

Booking Instruction

Please read all the information about volunteering before submitting the form. Select your preferred date from the available booking dates and complete all required fields. Your booking will only be confirmed after you receive a confirmation email from our Programme Manager.

For Corporate

Corporations can book private, volunteer-style capacity-building workshops at a minimum fee of RM65/pax. The Bangsar Nursery workshop is recommended if you're aiming to grow #FreeTrees for urban regreening & improving urban biodiversity.
