Taman Tugu Nursery
Explore forest trails and contribute to biodiversity in the heart of Kuala Lumpur
Volunteer at the Taman Tugu-Free Tree Society Nature Education Programme
Based on our established Environmental Stewardship framework, the Taman Tugu Nursery Programme offers an immersive learning experience designed to maximise conservation impact within Taman Tugu's 66-acre urban forest park. The programme serves as a vital hub for biodiversity, where volunteers engage in propagation, transplanting, and seed collection to nurture native rainforest trees. These plants are grown to support reforestation projects, schools, and community parks across the region.
Participation is free for students and the public, while corporate groups contribute a fee that is 100% channelled to Amanah Warisan Negara (AWAN), a national public trust established in 2018 to ensure that Taman Tugu remains a public green space.
To join us, please wear long-sleeved tops and long pants for mosquito protection and bring your own sunscreen, repellent, and a hat. While all tools are provided, we recommend bringing a poncho and a change of clothes to ensure you stay comfortable while helping our urban forests thrive.
NOTE:
No water refill stations available at Taman Tugu. We only have refills when the corporation opts for extra water, and there’s extra.

Location
The volunteering activities are conducted at the Taman Tugu Nursery on Jalan Sultan Salahuddin. If driving or using an e-hailing service, set the location to ‘Taman Tugu Nursery’. Ask to be dropped off at the gate and walk to the cluster of buildings inside.
We are at the roofed area ( EcoSave-i Kiosk) with metal tables and chairs, between the toilets and the surau.
If you are travelling by bus, the bus can only drop off at the main gate and then park at the Padang Merbok area. No buses are allowed to enter beyond the gate.
Parking is available inside the Taman Tugu Nursery compound and at the Persatuan Perkhidmatan Tadbir dan Diplomatik (PPTD) carpark, a short walk away.
Alternatively, parking is available at the Padang Merbok carpark or the Lake Gardens Multi-Storey Carpark. Both are about a 12 to 15-minute walk to the Taman Tugu Nursery entrance.
